0:52.6	Throughout our real cool history for kids episodes we've learned quite a bit about various wars.
0:59.0	In this episode, we're going to learn about a war that the United States was involved in after we were in World War II and the Korean War.
1:09.4	This was the Vietnam War.
1:13.2	Before I tell you the story about this war though, I need you to help me set a backdrop for us.
1:19.6	I need you to pause me for a moment and go get your world map or globe.
1:24.8	Are you ready?
1:27.1	We are going to find China first.
1:30.5	It's on the other side of the world, opposite of the United States of America.
1:34.8	Next slide your finger over to the left until you reach India.
1:40.5	Now look between China and India.
1:44.8	This area, which is mostly a rather large peninsula, bordered on the east by the South China Sea and on the west by the Bay of Bengal,
1:56.4	is made up of modern day countries, Myanmar, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Laos, Vietnam and Bangladesh.
2:08.1	Do you see them all on your map?
2:10.6	It is on this geographical area that we are going to focus in this episode.
2:16.4	Myanmar, which was once called Burma, was ruled by the British from 1885 to 1948.
2:24.8	The area that is now Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia were under French rule and called French Indochina from the 1800s until World War II.
