1:07.2	The years between 1848 and the 1910s were years of political posturing and power posing,
1:16.8	which would eventually lead to the First World War.
1:21.2	There had been a series of revolutions in 1848 that had accomplished the unification of
1:28.0	the countries of Germany and Italy.
1:32.0	Before this, they each had been just a loose grouping of states and provinces.
1:38.4	There were always changing hands and leaders.
1:41.9	Take a moment to find these countries on your globe or world map.
1:46.6	Manny is in Europe, to the northeast of France.
1:51.2	Do you see it?
1:53.0	Now go straight south just a little and you will see a boot-shaped peninsula sticking out
2:01.5	into the Mediterranean Sea.
2:04.1	That is Italy.
