Before we dive into our special story, let's take a moment to paint a historical and

The years between 1848 and the 1910s were years of political posturing and power posing,

which would eventually lead to the First World War.

There had been a series of revolutions in 1848 that had accomplished the unification of

the countries of Germany and Italy.

Before this, they each had been just a loose grouping of states and provinces.
