Wednesday night, we're going to continue through Matthew. Why don't you turn to Matthew 27,

where we are in our study through the Bible, verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book.

And I'm going to, as we often do, pull a small section from our upcoming Wednesday night study.

And we, on Wednesday night, we have seen now Jesus is on the cross.

And such a, you know, some people call you know this section

of the Bible the holy of holies of the Bible and it's really kind of true in the sense that this is

where Jesus died for the sins of the world but it's also the holy of holies in maybe another way

that I'd like to show you why it might be called the Holy of Holies in another way

as a perspective here. And it's just a small section here, verse 50. Matthew 27, verse 50.

It says there, Jesus, when he had cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost.

And behold, the veil of the temple was rent into, from the top to the bottom, and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent, and the graves were opened,

and many bodies of the saints which slept arose and came out of the graves after

his resurrection and went into the holy city and appeared unto many. Now when the centurion and they

that were with them watched Jesus saw the, and those things that were done,

they feared greatly saying, truly, this was the son of God.

I mean, these same guys that were spitting on him and saying, yeah, if you saved others,

he would want him to save himself. Well, had he saved himself, we would have all been doomed to

hell. Thank the Lord,

Jesus went to the cross, dying on the cross for our sins. And this is such a key. In fact,

of all the world's history, this is the most important, I would argue, second in the whole

the world's history. One second when it says here, Jesus gave up the ghost, when Jesus officially died.

And it changed the world forever.
