Hi, I'm Dave. I've been walking for fitness since 2013 and still

take an intentional fitness walk every single day. I'm walking right now and I would love to have

you join me for the next 10 minutes. It is a walk that is forever burned in my memory for years, our family vacationed in the

outer banks of North Carolina.

And every year, Ava and I would take probably multiple walks along the beach, and our

children were still small, and we dreamed ahead about one day how we would live near the ocean,

how we would move south, move out of Maryland, and perhaps even live at the outer banks.

And we would dream about this and talk about this, and it was always this future event at some point down the road, most likely after I retired.

The kids, one by one, they began to leave the nest.

And those conversations became a little less abstract and a little more concrete.

And at some point, I said in answer to her question,

so when are we going to do this?

I said in about five years, in about five years.

And those conversations continued.

We would dream together and the timeline would inevitably come up. So when are we going to do this? My answer continued to be in about five years.

While on one hand, I desperately wanted to move south,

wanted to live this dream that Ava and I were painting a picture of every time we walked along the beach.

On the other hand, when I started thinking about all that was going to be necessary to make that dream a reality, it was pretty scary.
