And also, I would love to wish you a happy Mother's Day, not just to biological moms, but I like to honor all the

women in this place that are investing their life in the next generation somehow. And so I am just so

thankful for all the aunties and the grandmas and the coaches and the teachers and the small group

leaders and the student pastors and the moms who drive

carpool and our friend's mom that talks us off the ledge a few times, I'm so thankful for all

of the women who are investing in us and helping us to become the people that we are today.

So whether you are a biological mom or not, and whether Mother's Day is a really happy occasion for you, or maybe it's a sad occasion or some kind of combination of the two, I hope that you feel seen and loved and honored by your time with us this weekend.

Now, with that said, I do need to warn you a little bit that you might be getting

more than you bargained for by coming to Saddleback Church on Mother's Day. Because here's

the thing, I know the Mother's Day vibe, okay? I know we come to church on Mother's Day and we're

thinking about carnations and flowers and you might be wearing a corsage and you're thinking about carnations and flowers, and you might be wearing a

corsage, and you're thinking about going to Olive Garden afterwards, and, like, there's a vibe

to Mother's Day, and I just got to tell you that I think God might have more for us than that

today, and so just get ready, because I think that he has a word for you. And you guys,

I know that on Mother's Day, you just kind of need like an encouraging word, right? Like

moms hold the world together. And I really tried to write that sermon. I did. I sat down and I was

praying. I was reading my Bible. I said, God, what do you want me to talk about?

And I said, Lord, I just need like a little encouraging word that they could talk about over Feduccini Alfredo. It does not need to be a heavy hitter this weekend.

And you guys, I don't know what comes over me. It happens to me every time. I just, I get gripped by something and I cannot
