Curricular guidance came out from the federal government, and then a lot of schools and states

change what they were doing, and one of the casualties of Common Core, although Common Core didn't

really mandate what you had to do with your curriculum.

One of the casualties, Steve, was cursive.

And a lot of schools just stopped teaching how to do that kind of flowy, swoopy-dupy handwriting

that I was never very good at, but that we used back in the day,

you know, to sign a check or to sign your, you know, name on anything. Or Steve, in the anniversary

year of these United States of America, when we are going to be reconsidering the founding documents

like the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution, wouldn't it be great if some kids could

actually read that handwriting? Well, there are clubs being formed around the country that meet after school to get together and the kids

want to learn how to write cursive.

I mean, just, these are not kids who are saying, hey, I want to hang around and play video games,

or I can't wait to get out of this school building, they're like,

could we stay after school and do something that used to be mandated during regular school hours?

Man, what weird kind of loser kids are those?

No, I'm teasing.

I think it's great.

Not necessarily because it's cursive, although I do miss cursive.
