Now obviously I have no idea where each one of you

I feel like I've been trying to follow Jesus

for a long time, but I still find myself challenged

by a pretty fundamental question, and that's this.

Are Jesus and I really interested in the same things?

Because I know what I'm interested in,

and I could give you a list of all those things,

and you probably could make a list of all the things

that you're interested in.

But what if we set all those things aside for a moment?

And what if we asked from first principles,

but what is God interested in?

What is God passionate about?

What makes God's heart just beat really fast?

And in fact, would people know what God is passionate about

just by looking at what it is that we are passionate about?

This morning, I'd like to spend just a few minutes

talking about two of the more unfamiliar passions of God.

And those are God's passion, first of all, for the world,

and then secondly, his passion for justice.
