Summary

As we begin our series, “Till He Appears,” Nate shows us how the story of Adam and Eve ultimately predicted the coming of our Savior. Nate contrasts Adam’s shortcomings with Jesus’ fulfillment of our brokenness to illustrate how God planned for our redemption all along.

How do you see evidence of the Lord's faithfulness even in the midst of Adam and Eve's sin? How does this relate to your life and your need for a Savior?

2) When was a time you were faced with shame, but Jesus ultimately removed this shame in order to glorify Him?

3) What are some ways that you can express gratitude for Jesus taking responsibility for your sin? How could you teach a non-believer about this truth?

0:00.0	So the Saturday before Thanksgiving, my wife and I, we decided that was going to be the day that we were going to put all of our Christmas decorations together. I know there's like deeply held opinions. I need to wait until after Thanksgiving, but we got two kids under three, so we're lucky that we got any decorations up at all. But that day, as we decided that we were going to put all of our decorations up, our tree up, our ornaments up,

0:26.3	Because in order to grab the Christmas tree and ornaments and nativity scene, I had to go to the attic.

0:37.4	There we go. Thank you. I appreciate that. So I went up, got it all, brought it down, and we were setting up our Christmas tree, and I don't know why we did this. This was a mistake, but we decided to set it up not during my two-year-old's nap. So we were setting up the Christmas tree, and she is on my heels, like the entire time,
0:56.3	going, can I help, can I help? Can I help? Can I help? And I'm just going, no, no,
1:00.7	you know, you can't help. And eventually we got the Christmas tree up, and I'm stringing the
1:05.9	lights, and she's just at my heels going, can I help, can I help? Can I help? And so eventually I go, fine. You can
1:14.2	help. And I kid you not, about five seconds after I said, you can help, all I hear is crash.
1:22.6	And I look over and there's an ornament on the floor in four different pieces and she's just
1:26.8	staring at it.
1:29.0	You see, what happened was I gave her a job to do and almost immediately after I gave her a job
1:33.8	to do, she failed at the job I gave her to do. And you see, that picture is a story of my life.
1:41.2	It's a story of your life and it's really a story of scripture because that
1:44.4	moment right there, that picture is really a story of all of human history, because here's what
1:48.7	scripture tells us.
1:49.7	Scripture tells us that our Heavenly Father was building something beautiful.
1:53.0	He was building something magnificent.
1:55.0	And as he's building it, he graciously allows his kids to participate in what he's building.
2:00.5	And almost as soon as they participate, all you hear is crash.
2:06.1	And we shattered what was supposed to be splendid.
