Residents of Mississippi's Gulf Coast spotted an unidentified flying object drifting overhead,

called every authority they could think of, and got the most absurd, honest

answer in the history of UFO investigations.

On a Friday over Biloxi, Mississippi, residents of Harrison County started looking up.

Something strange was crossing the Gulf Coast sky, high, slow, and unidentifiable to everyone

below.

Phone calls started pouring into local news station WLOX TV, because when you see something weird in

the sky over South Mississippi, apparently the television station is your first call.

Forget the Air Force. Forget the FAA. Get the TV news team on it. To their credit,

WLOX actually did what journalism is supposed to do.

They called everyone.

Harrison County's Emergency Management Agency got a ring.

Kiesler Air Force Base got a ring.

Gulfport Veloxi International Airport got a ring.

And then someone had the elegant idea of just checking Flight Aware, the publicly accessible flight tracking website that any human

with a smartphone can download and use for free.

What they found was not a weather anomaly, not a classified military craft, and certainly

not the vanguard of an interstellar invasion force.
