I am genuinely and super excited to talk about this documentary because it's like the perfect intersection of who I am kind of.

I'm obsessed with the true crime documentaries and podcasts and all of the television shows on investigation discovery but also I love

Sam Cook and I love Sam Cook because my mom when I was little decided that I

didn't like rap music. Oh really? Yeah she was on my brother you know we need to change the station

We don't like rap music do we trade I'm like no and so she would give me her music to listen to and Sam Cook. I still think I have my best of Sam Cook

cassette tape. So I'm very very curious if you have some affinity for Sam Cook as well like what led you to tell

this story and work on this project? First of all the first part of like what my

connection was to Sam Cook is when I grew up my

bedroom window if you open the window you could hear everybody chatting on the

street and there were a lot of people chatting and I had a neighbor who always played the staple singers and Sam cook and he'd crank it and I would just

would just fall asleep to it.
