On June 14, 2015, a woman who everyone thought was a supermom was killed inside of her

home by a daughter who was loved and cared for far too much, enough that it became both

smothering and extremely dangerous. So if you like her coffee hot, but your bones chilled,

sit back and start your day with a morning cup of murder.

Today's story starts with a woman named D.D. Blanchard, who was born Claudine Petrie in Chack Bay, Louisiana, in 1967 and grew up with her parents and four siblings in nearby Golden Meadow.

When asked to recall the now infamous woman as a child, relatives recall her habit of stealing

from her family as a retaliation when things, quote, didn't go her way.

Once she reached adulthood, Didi began working as a nurse's aide, which is probably why it

came as a surprise when Didi's mother passed away while in her care from what the family thought

was denial of food. Whether that is true or just family rumor, Didi at the age of 24, became pregnant

by 17-year-old Rod Blanchard. Their daughter, Gypsy Rose, was born

in July of 1991, and pretty quickly, the couple separated after realizing that they got married

for the wrong reasons. After some failed effort to get Rod back into their home, Dee Dee

packed up Gypsy and moved back with her family.

Now, according to Rod's later statements, when Gypsy was just three months old,

Dee Dee became convinced that her daughter suffered from sleep apnea and took her to the hospital for some testing.
