Welcome to the Tudor Dixon podcast. I personally love a good story about people helping each other and that's why I am so excited about today's guest. I've actually been watching him on social media for a while now, which seems a little bit creepy now that I'm saying that out loud. But every time I see him post, I think this guy seems so cool and it's like so exciting to me to watch what he does does to help kids across the country.

His name is Rodney Smith Jr and he's often called a real life superhero for all of his

amazing and generous work in communities in need.

Rodney is the founder of Raising Men and Women Lawn Care Service,

a non-profit organization helping people in need one lawn at a time and Rodney I just want to say for our

listeners who have never heard of this before I see you post all the time these

kids that are agreeing to mow lawns but they're all over the country.

Yes ma'am yeah so we have about 5,000 kids spread out through the United States

of America moving free lawn for the elderly, disabled

single parents and veterans. And it's not just mowing, we also include waking leaves and snow shoveling,

and we also have kids in eight other different countries. So, you know, it started here and it's just spreading I didn't know that you

are international but so you are you were born in Bermuda is that right yes ma'am so I was

born and raised in the island of Bermuda and I came to the United States when I was about

16 to 10, a small school upstate in New York for kids with learning disabilities.

It's a small school named Maplebrook, and I spent two years there and the best two years of my life and that's where my journey kind of began.

So tell us about how this began because you, I see you not only, not only do I see you posting pictures of children from

across the country you're going across the country regularly and talking to these

kids so what is that like to be able to help encourage kids that maybe haven't had that in their lives before?

Yeah, it's always a good feeling to go visit the kids, especially when they finish.

So whenever a kid accepts our

50-yard challenge they make a sign saying I accept the 50-R challenge in return
