will either be relentlessly screenshoting their side's league table or trying to block it out of their mind.

Aston Villa's fans no doubt fall into the latter category after going winless through the first five league games of the season

and being knocked out of the

Carabarobo Cup to boot. Add into the mix, Unai Emery calling his side lazy and president of

Football Operations Monchi's expected departure, which might well be confirmed before you listen

or watch this and it seems like the perfect time to discuss exactly what is going wrong at Villa

Park and the

possible permutations of this terrible run of form.

Villa has spent really badly.

We talked about this a couple of weeks.

Look at the players in that team.

They are all Dean Smith's players.

If you look at Villa's record in the transfer market, the money they've spent, they've

not got a huge amount in return, to be

perfectly honest, over the last few years. I don't recognise this iteration of Aston Villa because the style of football that they're playing at the moment is not the style of football that they've played for the last two to three years. And there's a lot of little things going wrong. And it's all added up to accumulating in what we're seeing at the moment. It's been an awful start to the season. I just think with Unai now, if him or any of his squad, if there was other teams coming in from
