Hey, good morning. It's Saturday, July the 12th. Another tariff deadline has come and gone,

0:10.7

and Donald Trump has revived his trade war against almost the entire world. Just this morning,

0:15.9

the president sent out another set of tariff letters informing Mexico and the European Union that he will impose

0:22.1

30% tariffs on all goods from their country starting next month. He also warned that if they retaliate,

0:27.5

he'll raise tariffs by the same amount that they retaliate in addition to the 30%. But if history is

0:33.4

any indication, the likelihood that any of these current tariffs will actually go into effect is

1:09.4

confusion throughout the entire supply chain.

1:12.1

This pause was supposed to be a reset for Trump's trade war, an opportunity, if you can call it that,

1:17.6

for countries to stabilize their relations with this administration.

1:21.5

And the Trump White House boasted repeatedly that they would secure plenty of trade deals during this period,

1:26.8

so many trade deals that people would get sick of them.

1:31.4

I'm telling you, these countries are calling us up, kissing my...

1:35.3

They are... they are dying to make it here.

1:39.0

Please, please, sir, make a deal.

1:40.8

I'll do anything. I'll do anything, sir.
