with you. This book really follows from a film, right, of the same title.

Why a book to follow up on the film?

Well, that's an easy thing to answer because I wasn't planning to write a book,

but Ignatius Press found out that we were in production of the documentary film,

The Detransition Diaries, saving our sisters.

And they approached us and said,

would you be willing to turn this film project into a larger book project?

And of course, we said, sure, we'd be happy to do that.

So it wasn't of our doing.

It was of Ignatius Press. So that's, you know,

every author's dream. Somebody comes to you and says, we write a book. What was the public response

to the film, by the way? You know, we gauge it by things. Like we haven't had our YouTube

channel shut down. You know, we haven't had our social media accounts canceled.

So that is, you know, kind of a good barometer in today's climate

because if it's causing a lot of, you know, upheaval within the trans community,

they will do everything in their power to shut you down. So when the D-Transition

Diaries film came out, none of that happened. And I should have checked before I spoke to you,

but I think it's been subtitled in four or five other languages, which means it's gotten a really
