Summary

This is an update to our last episode on alcohol. New research has been accumulating suggesting that perhaps even a glass a day of alcohol is not beneficial. For instance, the new Canadian guidelines say that zero alcohol is the safest amount of alcohol. Today, we revisit the topic with Professor Mariann Piano, Senior Associate Dean for Research, Postdoctoral Fellowship Director.

A three way conversation then. A three way conversation with all of the listeners and you guys

1:17.5

have spoken and we listened. We got a lot of responses on our most recent episode on alcohol.

1:23.9

So right when an episode came out literally three days before an article had come out in

1:28.5

New York Times and I must have gotten like 20 emails from people being like, did you see this

1:34.1

article and like, how could this episode on alcohol say this and this article say that and just

1:38.6

it was a daily huge of communication from you guys. So, you know, you know, that's part of the

1:44.0

lesson. Science is ever evolving. To me, that's kind of what we're trying to get across on the show.

1:50.5

There was indeed a major study on alcohol and we recorded our original alcohol episode right
