There was a political gift available to Donald Trump and last night's State of Union that any president would have seized.

And that is the good feelings generated by the remarkable, almost miraculous win by the USA men's hockey team

over Canada.

And so as if on cue, there's one thing that Donald Trump knows how to do, it's to put on a television

show, the entire Olympic team walked in and Trump bashed in that and also announced that

he would be giving

the Presidential Medal of Freedom to the goalie,

Connor Halebute,

who stopped, I think the figure was 41 shots on goal,

and other athletes have received it.

But that sort of summed up

the speech that went on for more than an hour

and 45 minutes, longest state of union ever. Bill on for more than an hour and 45 minutes, longest

state of union ever.

Bill Clinton once went about an hour and a half, and of course people didn't like Clinton

said it was too long.

And here you had constant interruptions in a good sense if you're the president of USA,

USA, USA, you know, every time that Mike Johnson and J.D. Venn stood up, it was sort of a cue.

And mostly the Democrats sat on their hands.

That is the way it works.

A lot of them skipped it.
