Coleman Jr. sitting in today for Alley. Now, we're keeping a close eye on Capitol Hill

where the Senate is in session this hour. Senate clerks have been up all night,

reading aloud the 940-page bill that would fund Donald Trump's agenda.

When they finish, Republicans will move toward a vote on this incredibly high-stakes legislation.

It includes devastating cuts to Medicaid and nutrition programs and would add $4.5 trillion to the national deficit,

according to the Joint Committee on Taxation. But the future of this bill is far from certain

at this hour. Republicans had to keep the vote open for hours last night to get enough votes

from their own members to even allow the bill to be debated on the floor.

And the reason the debate has still not begun is that Democrats leaned on their limited power

as the minority in the chamber to delay it.

This is very much an active and evolving story.

There are a lot of vulnerable Republicans who will still need to be convinced to vote for this bill,

and Democrats have not given up fighting as of yet.

Senators Amy Klobuchar of Minnesota and Andy Kim of New Jersey are two of them,

and they will be joining us live from Capitol Hill later in the show to talk strategy.

But in the meantime, I want to begin this hour with a critical and crucial update on President

Trump's latest power grab.

It's hard to overstate just how consequential Friday Supreme Court ruling really is.

Now, in a case called Trump v. Casa, the court's conservative supermajority handed Donald Trump yet another tool

to help him consolidate power this time by blocking lower court judges from issuing nationwide

injunctions. These injunctions might sound technical, but they're actually critical checks on
