Summary

Ken Block, author of "Disproven," tells Chuck how he was brought on by a lawyer with former President Trump's 2020 campaign to validate claims of widespread voter fraud in the election — and instead found far fewer fraudulent votes than were needed to impact the results in any state.

Hello from Washington. I'm Chuck Todd and this is the Chuck Todd Kask. So I've been trying to figure out what is the best way to try to unpack and deal with the consistent and constant voter fraud claims that we've been dealing with going back to 2020 and frankly before that as we know that the seeds of

0:24.2

doubt were planted arguably by Donald Trump in 2015 and 2016 beginning with his

0:28.8

claim that the Iowa caucuses were stolen from him somehow when Ted Cruz defeated him the first time he was on a ballot.

0:36.7

But the question has always been, how do we best illustrate this?

0:40.0

So the day after the 2020 election, there were some lawyers from the Trump campaign that said, hey, let's be serious about voter fraud.

0:46.8

Let's go find an expert and see if they can substantiate Donald Trump's gut, gut feelings.

0:54.5

And they found Ken Block.

0:56.3

He's a registered Republican.

0:57.8

He was a two-time candidate for governor himself in the state of Rhode Island.

1:01.5

But first and foremost, he was and is an expert in

1:04.0

voter data. If massive voter fraud occurred in 2020, his work would

1:08.7

surely uncover it or at a minimum be able to raise some yellow flags and perhaps even a red flag or two.

1:14.6

Well, Kenbach didn't find much. I certainly first learned about him from the

1:19.7

January 6th committee hearings. It was Bill Barr among others who noted that well

1:24.4

there was one competent person that had looked at this and he didn't find anything.

1:28.6

So instead Block decided to write a book and in his new book he that's called disproven he's able to disprove some of those

1:36.8

voter fraud claims that have become common if you follow this story and he debunks them very quickly.

1:43.9

And his in-depth research found far fewer fraudulent votes

1:47.0

than were needed to impact the results in any state.

1:50.0

But more importantly, his sort of road to disprove the allegations has, I think, opened the window

1:58.2

for us to have a discussion about how can we restore more faith and trust in our system as it is so we're going to talk about all of it.

2:05.2

So joining me now is Ken Block. The book is called Disproven, my unbiased search for voter fraud for the
