Welcome to our Wednesday's broadcast of the Gospel Truth.

Today is the middle of my second week of teaching on the true nature of God. I have a book on this. This is

something I wrote, I don't know, 20 or 30 years ago. This is a foundational teaching that I have put

out. And I tell you, everybody needs to understand these truths. And yet sad to say the average

Christian is somehow or another trying to mix the Old Testament law

with the New Testament grace and they just don't mix. Did you know that that's exactly the

illustration that Jesus was making when he talked about you can't put new wine in an old wine

skin or you can't sew a new patch on an old garment?

Sometimes people miss the point, but he was being criticized that you aren't doing

things according to the Old Testament law.

And his reaction was that you can't put wine, new wine, into an old bottle because, you

know, the wine skin, it expands with the fermentation and it expands.

When it's fresh, then that's okay.

But once it gets old and brittle, it won't expand.

It'll just burst and the wine will spill out.

You can't put a new patch on an old garment because when you wash it, the new patch will shrink. The old

patch, the old garment has already shrunk as much as it can, and it'll just tear it and pull

away from it. And so the point he was making is you can't put this new covenant into the old
