Welcome to our Tuesday's broadcast of the Gospel Truth.

I'm now into my fourth week of teaching in a series entitled The True Nature of God.

And I tell you, this has been powerful. This is just foundational truth.

The Bible says in 1 John 4 verses 8 and 16 that God is love.

And yet there's a lot of things in the Bible that doesn't look like God is love.

Because I mean he struck people with sickness and did all kinds of things.

Again, this is what I'm trying to explain is that before people could be born again,

they couldn't have relationship with God the way that we do today.

That's the reason for the old covenant, an old way of dealing with sin,

versus the new covenant way of dealing with sin.

It's not because God has changed. The Bible says he's the same yesterday today and forever.

He doesn't change, but his dealings with us have changed because we changed.

An old testament person was separated from God, but a new testament person when you get born again,

2 Corinthians 5, 17 says you become a new creature, old things have passed away,

all things have become new. John 4, 24 says God is a spirit and he's dealing with you based on the spirit.

And because we get born again and become this new person in our spirit,

we get a brand new spirit. God is able to release his love and his mercy towards us
