David kept crying out to God in prayer, knowing that God had not forsaking him.

May what great comfort that comes about, Lord, you haven't forsaken me and you'll never forsake me.

God never forsakes us. He's always watching us and hearing our prayer. When we pray, he hears our prayers.

We're glad you've joined us for a new series looking at the inner life of King David,

who often wrote Psalms to express his own spiritual condition.

Roll will begin with a look at David's writings as he fled from his own son's army

and called on God for peace

and safety in his distress. Today we'll see how to trust God with our trials, seeking him daily

in prayer and resting in his presence. The title of our study today is The Trials of Life.

Here's Roll Rees in Psalm 3.

The Psalm that we're going to be studying tonight is a Psalm of a father where his son is after his father.

He wants to kill his father.

And he wants to take the kingship from his father.

His name is Aslam.

And the king is David. I don't know if you have any

children that hate you or are trying to take over what you have and maybe you don't really see it

now, but their goal is to take over everything you have and to get rid of you. That happens

all the time. You got to really make sure that before you become elderly, you've got everything

under the law so nobody can take anything away from you. And you can designate it to those

that you really want to give to those people.
