As we continue in this Passion Week, this morning we're going to look at the trial of Jesus.

We can read about it in Matthew 26 and 27, but here we discover that Jesus who was innocent

was put on an unfair, unjust trial. People lied about him. People misinterpreted

his motivations about what he said and did, and when he meant to bring right, they made it wrong.

And even though he was innocent, he was unjustly accused.

Have you ever found yourself unjustly accused?

Have you found yourself in a place where people are misjudging you and misunderstanding you?

I'm going to take a moment and pray through Isaiah chapter 53,

and we're going to realize that Jesus suffered these things so that you and I could be healed and whole. Isaiah 53-4 says that he suffered

the things we should have suffered. He took upon himself the pain that should have been ours.

But we thought God was punishing him.

We thought God was wounding him and making him suffer.

1:17.4

But the servant was pierced because we had sin.

He was crushed because what we had done was evil.

And he was punished to make us whole again, and his wounds have healed us.

If you can, I want you to close your eyes and picture the trial of Jesus.

Picture him standing there, and the people that he had healed came and told lies about him.

The people who he had fed said that he was wrong.

And the crowds that he had taught about love and peace and forgiveness and kindness shouted,

crucify him! crucify him.

Meanwhile, Jesus stood there and he said nothing.

He was full of peace because he knew his purpose was not to make himself
