Claremont, Florida

After climbing out of the shower, 32-year-old John Harden looks out the window and notices

that his pickup truck is on fire.

When John rushes outside to extinguish the flames, he is ambushed by a fatal shotgun blast

to the chest, and an extensive investigation fails to turn up any strong suspects or a

motive for the crime.

Over the next several years, multiple people move into John's former residence and report

unexplained paranormal events which make them believe the house is haunted by John's

ghost, but the authorities are unable to solve his murder.

For that, the trail been called.

Hello everyone and welcome to this month's first Halloween themed episode of the trail

went cold.

I'm your host Robin Warder, and today we're going to be exploring a cold case which has

an unlikely supernatural connection, the 1975 murder of John Harden.

Ever since the inception of this podcast, it's been a tradition for us to count down

into Halloween by spending the month of October covering mysteries which either took place

on Halloween where I had some sort of spooky or paranormal slant to them.

This year, I'll be following the same approach I used last Halloween by putting together

episodes about unsolved cold cases which are alleged to have ties to supernatural elements,

though this may be the result of the spreading of misinformation and sensationalistic

details.
