Summary

Formula E celebrates its 10th Anniversary later this year and with it, it's time to take a look back and rank the series 10 best drivers since its inception in China back in 2014. In the short decade of the series history, we've had 86 drivers take to the series, including former F1 World Champions and Indy 500 winners, but who is Formula E's greatest driver so far? Deputy National Editor and Formula E Reporter Stefan Mackley is joined on the Podcast by series broadcaster Saunders Carmichael-Brown to go back and forth on their own Top 10 lists and argue their case. Many of the series World Champions make the list such as 2024 series Champion Pascal Wehrlein, Sebastien Buemi, and Jean-Eric Vergne. But do any of the other veterans like Mitch Evans, Sam Bird or Felix Rosenqvist make it? Listen in and find out! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit podcastchoices.com/adchoices

Earlier this month, marked 10 years since the Formula E Championship held its very first race,

0:14.5

and over the last decade, a total of 132 races have been held on city street circuits

0:19.1

and permanent racetracks across the world.

0:21.6

During that time there have been no fewer than 86 drivers who have competed in at least one race,

0:26.6

including a Formula One World Champion, Le Mont 24 hour race winners and Indy 500 victors.

And we thought now would be the perfect time to whittle down all those drivers and create a top 10 list of the best to have ever raced in the All Electric Championship. I'm Stefan Mackley, formerly reporter for Otersport,

0:41.8

and helping to debate our top 10 pick is someone that has been part of formula he's presenting

0:45.4

team for a number of years and part of the championship for seven, and that is Saunders Carmichael

Brown. Saunders, thank you very much for joining me. How are you? Pleasure, mate. Yeah, good to be here.

0:54.6

Doing very well. Thank you. How are you? Good. Yeah, good. How, I mean, we're in a bit of a

0:59.0

little at the minute, aren't we for Formula? It's obviously the, the off season, preseason doesn't

1:02.7

start until the start of November. I mean, how have you sort of been enjoying your time off. I've been enjoying it very much. I've been trying, I've been traveling a little bit.

1:11.5

I've been trying to like, you know, detox the mind a bit. But there has been a little element

1:16.8

sort of sprinkles of formulae within the off season because it is, you know, we call it the

1:20.1

off season, but there's always so much that happens. You can't really fully switch off because

1:24.6

if it isn't the driver lineups changing and the driver market

1:27.7

moving left, right and center, then it's preparation for next year. It's talking about

1:31.3

what sort of content we're going to be doing next year, how the broadcast team might be

1:34.0

assembled, all that stuff. And I actually very fortunately, and hopefully by the time this goes

1:39.0

out, it will be live, if not very shortly afterwards, got to do a bit of an electric road trip

1:43.9

with Maserati. Oh, awesome. From shortly afterwards, got to do a bit of an electric road trip with Maserati.
