They discuss some of the challenges and dangers of trucking. (2:00) Joe started at above 600 lbs on a 5’8” body. (10:30) He shares what food choice was like growing up and other challenges over the years. He’s currently a trucker for a living, and the lifestyle led to his weight creeping up. He had heard about Atkins and decided to try it; shortly after, he discovered “The Angriest Trainer Podcast" (aka "Fitness Confidential"). Vinnie tells Joe some of the things he hears from morbidly obese clients. (38:00) The tipping point for Joe was that a simple work-related task left him wheezing. Joe finally began learning some new habits, like not drinking his calories. (43:00) Even at his large size, he began to feel better after about two weeks. He has slowly incorporated exercises like walking and jump roping. (49:00) Joe started at over 600 lbs and is currently around 270 lbs; he’d still like to lose more, but his progress is fantastic!
