Go with me, if you would, again, to 1 Corinthians, the 12th chapter, and we'll read this in Young's

literal translation. We've been talking about the things of the spirit, the things of the spirit.

You might say, why don't you just call it the gifts of the spirit? Because there are other things beside the gifts that he's talking about in this chapter,

which is one of the reasons that I'm referring so much to Young's literal.

These couple of chapters, chapter 12 and chapter 14 of 1 Corinthians,

are two chapters that many of the modern translations

really mess up on. Now you've got to be your own judge about it, but all you've got to do

is look up words and see how they're translated in other parts of the Bible, to get an idea if it's consistent or not.

And you'll find that a lot of the modern translations

are obviously written by people who don't speak in tongues.

And so they've tried to make the translation, I'd call it a paraphrase.

They try to make it match their theology.

But we should never do that.

Never water down the word to make it match your lack of experience.

Always believe God to elevate your experience to match the word.

You will always, throughout your whole life,

you will always come across things in the Word that you're not there.

You haven't experienced that or to that degree. So what do you do not there. You haven't experienced that, or to that degree.

So what do you do?

Well, you can start trying to explain it away.

Say it's not for today.

It's not for everybody or this or that.
