And that's fine where human beings were self-interested.

But if we live together in a group, there has to be somebody that says,

the interest of the group exceed yourself interest at this moment.

I'm sorry. Because the pure self-interest, the pure independence,

the pure government out of the way has ceased to serve us,

be it climate change or a global pandemic or racial inequality or, you know, name the problem.

We need to see our interconnectedness and we need to see the role of government

in keeping this very big, very diverse, very complex country on its feet.
