After playing roughly 60% of the snaps in week 10 second year inside linebacker Mark Robinson

laid a goose egg against the Browns.

That's right, he did not play a single defensive snap.

He played, but his only contributions were on special teams where he logged 23 snaps.

The narrative throughout the week, even from head coach Mike Tomlin, was that Robinson would be, quote,

front of the line to see more snaps following back-to-back injuries in weeks 9 and 10 to Cole Holcomb and

Kwan Alexander. Robinson had three tackles last week against the Green Bay Packers.

He did look a bit lost at times in coverage, especially dropping as his own defender,

but overall showed more sideline to sideline speed and delivered on being the downhill

thumper that he has been billed as since

getting drafted. Michael Walker who signed to the 53-man roster on Saturday

ended up playing 84% of the defensive snaps. Does that have more to do with the

team being impressed with Walker or not trusting Robinson?

I would say since he got zero snaps it has more to do with Robinson.

Throughout his tape last week he could be seen looking around pre-Snow a lot making sure that he was in the

right spot he did not appear to be taking communication into his own hands granted

he had to fill in at a moment's notice last week and saw his first extended play time

of the season then.

But Tomlin stressed throughout this week the importance of communication,

especially in the Steelers' first hostile road crowd environment of this season.

Could it be that Robinson isn't quite ready to be a central communicator on the team and that Walker appear to be taking that bull by the horns?
