Welcome to the terrible take a daily segment telling Steelers nation what's on our mind. I'm Alex Kazora.

I mentioned this on Twitter yesterday and really I should have had the thought and made the connection earlier in the week.

But if you want a matchup to watch in Sunday's game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and

Green Bay Packers, it's not between any two players or two head coaches. It's the special team's

chess match between Rich Bissacia and Danny Smith. We're talking two old school

dudes just pure football coaches who have been doing it for a long time.

Smith began coaching at Edinburgh, a D2 school north of Pittsburgh in 1976.

Basachia, his coaching career began at Wayne State in 1983.

Along the way, both men have had a slew of jobs and spent plenty of time in college before making it to the pros.

Bessachia was once a quarterback's coach, Smith once a running backs coach.

They ended up in the ACC together in the 90s, Bessachia at South Carolina, Smith at Georgia Tech.

Smith made the NFL jump in 1995 with Philadelphia, while Bessachia did so with Tampa Bay in 2002,

one year after Mike Tomlin got there and they won a Super Bowl together.

Since the two have been doing their thing, players love both those guys and buy into everything they're selling.

Vissachia became the Raiders interim head coach in 2021

and probably should have been hired full time.

You can bet the Raiders are regretting letting him go for Josh McDaniels.

For the Packers game, we'll see which unit comes out on top.

The Packers have a strong return game, the Steelers a great kicking game, and Pittsburgh

will have home field advantage.

Will one of them run a trick play?

Will one of them make a splash play that defines the game?
