I plan on doing a film room breakdown later in the week for the site to add some visuals to my commentary instead of just audio,

but I really liked how O.C. Matt Canada created easy yards for the Pittsburgh Steelers offense in Thursdays win over the Tennessee Titans.

It's nothing sensational, nothing flashy, but it's effective and efficient to get the team in rhythm and moving the ball. At least four times Kenny Pickett faked the handoff and booted to his right to hit an open player in the flat.

Twice it was Connor Hayward, the team playing off their Zorro Toss Run concept to get him open for a quick gain, including one catch that went for 11 yards.

On another third and short situation, Pickett hit running back Noggi Harris in the flat, and on the fourth,

Tite-And-Thorneo Washington picked up his second catch of the ear and moved the sticks.

No, it's not going to light the world on fire. I don't want to make more of it than what it is.

Smart simple play calling to make life easier on his quarterback and get things going. That's good coaching.

Putting your players in position to succeed in giving them quick wins.

It's no slight against picket. Every offense, every good one anyway,

should and does have these types of plays work leverage

work deception and treat these plays as elongated runs high percentage aren't

going to go for 60 yards but but it's better than a two-yard run stuff on first and 10.

This is how Canada's offense, in theory, and at its best, is supposed to look.
