I'm Alex Kizora.

I gotta spend today talking about arguably the biggest disappointment on the entire Pittsburgh Steelers roster.

No, it's not Kenny Pickett or Nauchy Harris or anyone defensively.

It's center Mason Cole. I really can't explain it.

Cole has just been bad this year. That's true when you look at the tape, his

PFF grade, the fifth worst of any qualifying center or even our sack breakdown, which charges

coal for a team high three sacks already.

That's an especially high number for a center.

Last year, Cole seemed like the steady presence.

No, he wasn't elite, but he was solid.

This year, he's been miserable on zone runs,

constantly falling off his blocks and getting whooped in

past protection even by big nose tackles. In week seven he gets the Rams Aaron Donald.

Hold on to your butts. I know Pat Meyer's system demands more out of his center than others. There's more 1-1 match-ups as the guards typically help the tackles. And maybe some of the injuries to right guard James Daniels has a slight impact as he's working with new people

But Cole looks like a liability out there snap after snap There's value in his line calls and

Kenny Pickett seems to trust him but center is a position the team will look

hard at to upgrade early in next year's draft. And I now consider Cole a potential

roster cut possibility this off season.
