Very, very little went right for the Pittsburgh Steelers in Sundays 30 to 7 drubbing by the San Francisco 49ers at Acresher Stadium.

Pittsburgh couldn't pass or run the football offensively, let alone protect second-year quarterback Kenny Pickett consistently.

They couldn't stop the run or seemingly cover anyone defensively either.

But there is some good news coming out of the Lost Sunday though if you can fathom it.

That would be the fact that T.J. Watt is all the way back as his usual dominant self.

Watt, who stated that he never felt like himself until very late in the 2022 season after

dealing with a pectoral and rib injury, certainly looked like himself on Sunday.

Watt generated six pressures, sacked San Francisco quarterback Brock Perry three times, forced

two fumbles, and was largely unblockable throughout the game.

According to Pro Football Focus, Watt recorded a 94.5 overall defensive grade from the 23 point loss, which is tops among all edge

rushers in football through week one. He also had a league high 94.9 pass rush

grade. Additionally, Watts 23.1 pass

rush win weight percentage from PFF is sixth best in the NFL, tied with Cleveland's Miles Garrett and Dallas Star Michael Parsons.

With the Steelers likely to be without Star defensive linemen Cameron Hayward for the next four weeks at

minimum and up to eight weeks if he does elect surgery on his groin.

What is going to have to be his usual dominant self time and time again these next few weeks.

Obviously others will have to step up around him as well such as Alex Highsmith, Larry

Ogan Joby, and even De Marvin Leal and rookie Keanu Benton to shoulder the load.

But it's hard to not be excited by Watt's performance, looking like the defensive player of the year,

T.J. Watt on Sunday.
