Pittsburgh Steelers preseason action is finally here, though kick things off tonight

against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Though we've learned a lot at camp, I go into game action as wide-eyed as possible.

Camp practices are the pop quizzes, game action are the final exams.

What happens here goes a long way in evaluating the Steelers roster.

While I can't wait to watch everyone who suits up tonight, the one guy I want to see above the rest is safety Kenny Robinson.

If you want the Camp Darling, it's him.

He went from virtual unknown even by us to one of the biggest

camp surprises. Above all else Robinson has been available. He and Miles

Kilibru are the only two safeties to participate in every practice this Steelers training camp.

That's allowed him to get more reps, working from third string to first team, and allowing

him the chance to make the plays that he has and oh boy has he

Robinson has been a playmaker attacking the football downfield with two great

high-point interceptions on downfield throws one by Mason Rudolph the other by Tanner Morgan

Robinson wants the ball and he goes up and gets it. But he's not sure classic small

free safety ball-hoc who can only roam center field.

That nearly six to and over 200 pounds Robinson brings size and physicality.

He once laid out wide receiver Cody White at the end of a catch and run during camp, throwing a forearm into him and chirping him as White jogged back to the sidelines.

Robinson does lack some versatility, he's really a safety only, and and is battling trade Norwood to be that fifth and final safety on the roster

Norwood to be fair looks better as well making this a flight that'll come down to the wire.
