Welcome to the terrible take, a daily segment telling Steelers nation what's on our mind.

I'm Alex Kazura.

The Pittsburgh Steelers hit the practice field for the first time of their 2023 training camp on Thursday, they still are not in pads that

won't take place until Tuesday, but it's still great to see this team in action with the

season feeling officially underway.

While it's just one day, the cornerback group stuck out the most to me in a positive collective way.

Patrick Peterson opening up practice with a breakup on a default to George

Pickens, Joey Porter Jr. Shine with blanket covers on Calvin Austin the

third, while Duke Dawson is getting an extended look at First Team's

Corner.

Elijah Riley is a hybrid and named to watch a slot safety type who picked off Mason Rudolph

for the first I.N.T. of Camp.

Riley could be an early-down big slot who can dump against a run while

Peterson may kick inside in passing situations, making room reporter to get playing time. This is still a group influx but there were initial

encouraging signs within that group both young and old. Yesterday they

won the day over Pittsburgh's whiteouts.
