In case you missed it, former Steelers running back Laveon Bell

posted a video on social media a week ago apologizing to Steelers fans for

sitting out a season rather than playing on the franchise tag and also for

leaving Pittsburgh claiming he never should have done so. He followed that with a

request for support from the fans, which

turned out to conveniently be time just prior to the would-be artist dropping a new single.

Bell has stated many times over the years that he has no regrets about the decisions he made to hold out and to leave for a contract

with more guaranteed money, so I doubt that he is suddenly sorry now.

But the timing of his comments is interesting for another reason.

The current crop of running backs are currently organizing themselves in a quest to improve the

deals that teams offer them.

They have progressed from a group chat to a Zoom meeting that reportedly took place last night,

led by Charters running back Austin Echler, and with some involvement by the NFLPA.

In a year, were Star running backs like Josh Jacobs, Saekwan Barclay, and Tony Pollarder playing under the franchise tag because they could not reach long-term deals with their teams, it's clear that they are not happy with the current pay scale for players that carry the ball.

Those in their positions
