I'm Alex Kazora.

This is from a few days ago. I know I'm mentioning this well after the fact,

but I tweeted a really interesting Steelers stat, at least to me.

Kenny Pickett did set one Steelers record the most rushing yards ever by a rookie quarterback

in Pittsburgh's history, his 237 from last year edged out Terry Bradshaw's 233.

Believe it or not, Pickets the man with the most, more than Ben, more than Cordell.

In fact, Pickett rushed for more yards last year than Ben did in any season.

Bradshaw only surpassed that twice.

So what does it mean?

Like many of my obscure stats, I guess not a whole lot.

Pickett's athletic and can run. That's not me breaking any ground.

But it serves as a reminder to the mobility the Steelers now have at the position,

something they lacked for the last decade of Rafflesberger's career with his old man knees.

Pittsburgh may use more of that in 2023, especially more design runs.

There is a line to walk they want to protect Pickett, of course, but he can keep the ball on a few zone reads this year.

It'd be another weapon and element to this offense, something to think about as the season kicks off.
