I released the video last week, but if you missed it, go check out my hour-long recap evaluating Kenny Pickett's rookie season, one that openly and

plainly talks about the ups and downs of 2022. There was much to be encouraged by. I ended the video on that note and he clearly progressed over the course of the season, which is the number one thing you want to see.

But if there are a couple key areas for him to work on, pocket presence does need to improve.

Though he got better at fighting the urge to run and leave a clean pocket, he still had a tendency

to drift and make life harder on his offensive linemen.

He needs to do a better drop of leading receivers in the flat and on sideline throws.

Too often, players have to slow down or turn back for the football

limiting their yack opportunity.

And he needs to decipher zone coverages more consistently,

especially the heavy amount of post-nap rotation NFL safety show today.

All correctable, all fixable, and I understand he was a rookie in a far from ideal situation.

But those are the areas I'll be watching the most from him as a sophomore

to determine if he makes a critical second-year jump.
