The big story yesterday was Omar Khan, of all people breaking the news about

Mitch Trubiski's pending contract extension.

And right on the heels of me talking about Mason Rudolph's surprise return,

I'm equally surprised by this Trubiski extension news. So don't listen to me about quarterback

predictions for a little while because I keep getting these things wrong. But like Rudolph,

I think Trubiski is making the correct decision. He's doing something most

competitors understandably have a tough time doing. Having the hard conversation and admitting to himself he's probably not going to be a starting

quarterback again at least he wouldn't garner that type of interest if he had served as Kenny Pickett's

backup all of 2023, not signed the extension, played a little bit, and then became a free agent in the impending off season.
