Hope it springs eternal. That's what May brings the NFL before training camp injuries,

before pre-season action, before the regular season douses

half the league in a bucket of cold water,

we're all hopeful.

That's what the draft does.

Look at these shiny new picks, the opportunities

how these guys can help us win and how

2023 will finally be our year.

I'm speaking broadly across the league and also the Pittsburgh where

Steeler Finns are excited about their draft class and hey, rightfully so, I am too.

But the cold and dark reality is the first round won't look a sparkly three years from now.

2020 is proof of that.

That same hope existed after that draft.

Fast forward to today in a record low 12 players of those 32 picks had their fifth year option picked up.
