I'm Josh Carney. We're just a few days removed from the conclusion of the 2023 NFL draft.

And for some reason, the 2024 NFL draft is already being brought up and speculated about.

When it comes to the NFL calendar and the amount of interest there is in football year-round,

it's certainly understandable that some would be looking ahead to next year's draft already.

But for many of those that are deep into the draft and spend countless hours preparing for it,

the conclusion of that year's draft feels like a big sigh of relief.

So when the 2024, way too early mock draft popped up Sunday and Monday from the likes of the athletics Dane Bruggler and Pro Football Focus.

You can understand the frustration that many may have exuded in that moment.

When it comes to Way Too Early Mock Drafts, many may have exuded in that moment.

When it comes to way too early mock drafts, they are mostly pointless.

First of all, the draft order is usually based on Super Bowl odds,

from worst to best, which is a crapshoot in and of itself.

Take for example, in the 2024 NFL mock drafts that came out, the Pittsburgh Steelers are selecting 10th due to having really low odds to win the Super Bowl in 2023.

Seems pretty silly based on what the Steelers have done this off season in free agency and the NFL draft
