Under new GM Omar Khan, the Steelers are still rooted in Kevin Colbert's guiding principles, but there have been some changes, and one of them is mostly cosmetic.

Since Colboard stepped down, Pittsburgh has joined the rest of the league with the phrase

I like to use fancy titles, the ones that sound all specific and official on the business card.

For example, Dan Rooney Jr. is vice president of player personnel.

What does that mean? I'm not really sure.

There's the director of pro scouting Sheldon White,

director of college scouting Dan Colbert, and director of player scouting Mark

Zadowski, so pro college and player, which I suppose encompasses both.

There's two senior scouting assistants and a scouting coordinator too.

These are all brand new under Khan.

Now all of that does not sound too out of place

and we can make logical assumptions

at what those titles and labels mean.

But for Pittsburgh, again, this is new.

Under Colbert, their titles were always bland and basic. Heck, for the first decade of Colbert's tenure, even after winning two Super Bowls, he still was not technically the GM. He was the director of football operations.

When they finally made the title change to GM in 2011, they did so with literally no fanfare.
