On the business card it says Mike Tomlin is the Pittsburgh Steelers head coach, but in reality he's more than that.

Mike Tomlin is the president of the National Football League.

That's the presence and authority he carries around the NFL. Every pro day cycle,

Tomlin is the one shaking hands and kissing babies.

No one glad hands better than Coach T and that's not a critique

that's a valuable, important asset to connect with players to learn about them

to make your market oftentimes get what you want when Mike Tomlin goes to a pro day he

gets to talk to whoever he wants. Doesn't matter if it's the Steelers' top need or if another team really wants to talk to that prospect.

For example, Tomlin grabbed all of the top Ohio State offensive linemen

Tuesday night and took them to dinner.

I bet other teams would have loved to talk to parish Johnson and Day 1 Jones,

but Tomlin got the meal. Like a president, if Tomlin calls on you to do something, you do it.

Even knowing he's not going to draft most of these names, their relationships and connections to remember down the road.
