Last year, when the Pittsburgh Steelers made Kenny Pickett the selection at number 20-22 NFL draft, I have to admit I was rather

disappointed. I felt at the time his ceiling overall at the most important

position in football was rather limited.

For the most part, I still do.

At least physically.

Truth be told, I wanted Malik Willis in Pittsburgh due to his tantalizing physical traits or Desmond Ritter

due to his high-level football IQ and overall leadership.

I was wrong, way, way wrong.

And it's not because of what Pickett did on the field as a rookie from a production standpoint.

No, it's because of who he is off the field in the locker room from a leadership standpoint

and what he's able to do between the ears.

He might never be a top five to ten quarterback in the NFL and that's okay.
