As any Steeler fan knows, there is no off season in the NFL.

We simply transition from obsessing about the team to obsessing about which players may be added to the roster

via free agency, trades, and the draft.

And while we're still two months away

from the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft,

we can be sure of one thing between now and then.

We won't know quite what to expect. Sure, Steelers GM Omar

Khan spent years working alongside former GM Kevin Colbert who officially retired

after last year's draft. We may see similarities in how he goes about filling out the depth chart, but there are bound to be differences as well.

We already saw an example of this last year, with Safety Mega Fitzpatrick getting his contract extension finalized way before training camp and

wide receiver Deontae Johnson signed to his two-year extension over a week prior to the

first preseason game kickoff. Under Colbert we were often left biting our nails waiting for the deal to get done, with the most extreme example being Troy Palomalo, who signed his contract extension on the Tarmac as the Steelers left for their week one game in Baltimore.
