Bouncing off what Dave Bryan talked about yesterday, the Steelers have had two interesting

future signings this week as Dave

dove into Quincy Roche returns to the Steelers at a time when

outside linebacker depth is thin especially if the Marvin Liao

returns to full-time D-line work. The team's other signing wide receiver Dan Chasena

is also pretty interesting. A track star of Penn State who played football just his senior season,

he latched onto the NFL through what he's offered

on special teams.

With legit 4-3 type speed in good size at 6-2 roughly 200 pounds, Giacenna has covered

kicks in punts over the last three years and had success

with 10 solo tackles over that time.

With Miles Boykin set to be a free agent, perhaps Josena can be viewed as insurance. He is not one-to-one to Boykin and really he's a cross between him and Gunner O'Shewski.

The technically wide receiver who really only plays on special teams but like Boykin the coverage guy not the return man.

The forgotten reality is the Steelers are in line to potentially lose several core

special teamers. Boykin, Marcus Allen, Benny Snell, Derek Watt.

Different guys have different roles and hats and just then I can't fail all of those, obviously.

But there could be a lane for a guy like him next year.

Pittsburgh loves keeping a couple of teams guys on the back end of the roster and he might be one of them come week one.
