I noted this in a tweet yesterday and wanted to share it here for those who aren't so terminally online and good on you for it.

J.J. Watt is wrapping up a Hall of Fame career playing his final NFL game last weekend.

T.J. Watt will now officially carry that torch as the Great Watt Passrusher.

Looking back, their career arcs have been so similar through six seasons, J.J. had 77-5 sacks.

T.J. J.J. had 77 and a half sacks, and their per game averages were also nearly

identical. Both had established themselves as elite players with 20 plus sacks seasons under their belt and both

had defensive player-of-the-year hardware though JJ had won three at this time

compared to TJ's one. Unfortunately there was also one concerning similarity. It was in each of their six

seasons that injury struck the first serious one of their NFL careers. In J.J's six season, a bad back limited him to only three games. For

TJ, it was a partially torn peck in week one that wiped out his first half of the

season, though he ended up playing in more than JJ 10 total this 2022 season.

For JJ this was the start of his injury plague career still a dominant player when available

but that health was fleeting.
