Will Pittsburgh Steter's rookie quarterback Kenny Pickett clear concussion protocol and wind up starting on Sunday against the Carolina Panthers?

After once again being listed as a limited practice participant on Thursday, it certainly doesn't

seem like the odds are good that Pickett will. If he doesn't, who should start in his place?

Well I think third-string quarterback Mason Rudolph might give the Steelers a slightly better

option to win on Sunday.

It's not like he would be a huge upgrade over second stringer Mitch Trebiski, who's coming

off a game this past Sunday that included him throwing three

interceptions and relief of Pickett.

Unless the Steters really think that Rudolph is the much better option than Trebiski when it comes to

providing a win on Sunday,

Mitch should start if Picket can't go.

And here's why.

For starters, Trabiski is under contract

for the 2023 season, while Rudolph isn't.

Additionally, it's hard to imagine Rudolph not wanting to run right out of the unrestricted free agent gate come March without looking back.
