I want to make one final note on Pittsburgh's first round pick, the Mackay Lemon to Maxi

Honit Chor situation, a storyline that dominated Thursday night more than the team's actual

selection itself.

While the Steelers are subject to criticism as the Eagles jumped them to take Lemon away,

Pittsburgh did not panic.

They pivoted and got a player they stole like a whole lot.

We know that basically for a fact, too.

On the Pat McAfee broadcast, when the Steelers went on the clock,

Bill Cowher, the show's guest, predicted the pick would be Ihonichor, but Omar Khan and the front

office raved about him throughout the day. Cowher said that without even knowing what had just

happened with Lemon either. If this was a true Pittsburgh panic, they would have taken the next best wide receiver,

as was the case in 2016 when the Bengals-napped cornerback William Jackson just ahead of the

Steelers, who then turned to and reached for Artie Burns, bad pick.

Pittsburgh instead went in a new direction with the offensive line.

Time will tell, of course, who has the better career

and if the Steelers made the right decision.

We can't answer that here and now.

But we can and should feel good

about the team's process

in pivoting off Lemon to Ionah Chor
