Pittsburgh Steelers with nine days until the start of the 2026 NFL draft. It doesn't appear that

the Steelers are going to draft a quarterback in the first round. But with one of those three third

round picks, they could take a swing on the position. One of those names the Steelers have shown a ton of interest in is Arkansas quarterback

Tailing Green, a big physical quarterback with a strong-armed and dynamic mobility.

He's still somewhat raw, despite a lengthy track record in college at Boise State and Arkansas,

and he has issues with turnovers, throwing 35 interceptions across four full seasons

as a starter. But there's no denying the tools. Green could be had in the third round, and there is

the chance that New Steelers head coach Mike McCarthy sees him in a similar vein to his former

quarterback in Dallas, that being Dak Prescott.

Prescott was a fourth-round pick, one that McCarthy didn't find, but he developed well and had some of his best years with McCarthy running the show offensively in the London Star State.

Prescott is shorter than Green and Waysless, but they both played similar styles in the SEC.

And Prescott could lean on his mobility early in his career as he learned how to play the position in the NFL. That could be

the case for Green too, though he wouldn't have to start right away like Prescott did in 2016 as a

rookie. It's a loose connection, but the interest in green makes sense for McCarthy and the Steelers,

especially with his style of play being somewhat similar to a player like Prescott's.
